Coordinating Circle

Circle Name: Coordinating Circle
Circle Domain: Communication and coordination between the program circles, the Governing Circle, and the community at INUUC.
Members: Delegates from the following Circles: Governing; Communications; Fun; Pastoral Care; Membership; Soul Weaving; Social Action Council; Leadership Development; Chalice Lighters; Greeters; Welcoming Congregation; others are welcome
Circle Vision: A vibrant and well-run community where programming enriches the lives of its members and all the program circles interact and support each other.
Circle Mission: To ensure all program circles are working together towards the goals that the congregation sets.
Circle Aims:
- Communication and coordination between all INUUC program circles and with the rest of the community.
- Intra-circle decision-making.
- Work with the Governing Circle setting overall strategy, establishing policies and procedures.
- Work with the Leadership Development Circle to get training to the program circles and others.
Circle Goals/Tasks:
Communication and Coordination
- Conduct a monthly meeting with reports submitted by each program circle delegate, including verbal reports from delegates in attendance and written reports from all delegates.
- Each circle will add their brief summary to the CC minutes.
- Each circle will be responsible to submit newsletter articles as needed to communicate to the community about important events or news.
- If your circle isn’t already connected with the Coordinating Circle, staying in touch—whether by attending occasionally or reading the minutes—is a simple way to share ideas and stay in the loop.
Intra-Circle Decision Making
- Ensure that any conflicts or issues between circles are addressed and resolved in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with the INUUC covenant.
- Approve Joy and Justice requests.
- Approve significant extra-budget expenditures below $750 (above that must be submitted to the GC for approval).
Work with the GC
- Meet annually with the Governing Circle (Jan/Feb) to help set annual goals and strategy for the INUUC.
- Create any ad hoc teams or circles needed to implement these goals.
- Provide feedback on previous year’s goals (Nov/Dec).
Work with the LDC
- Identify training needs for existing circles
- Establish and nurture any new circles.

Secretary/Communications Lead (Clerk?): Posts and edits Fathom minutes; Keeps track of “parking lot”—to be a rotating three-month commitment per person
