Family Ministry Circle
INUUC strives to be a multigenerational community, offering support, education and friendship to people of all ages. The pandemic has been particularly difficult on families and their relationship with the church community. We are working to create a program that supports families and their particular struggles.
Some ideas we are working on include:
Parents Night Out:
Vision: A group of “grandparents” provides child care/education for a few hours once a month so parents can have some “alone time”
Engagement Night:
Vision: A potluck followed by an evening of topic discussion for all ages.
Using relevant themes with meaningful topics as a discussion focus, in small groups where all ages can contribute, would be an exciting way to both build bridges between generations and sharpen our listening and dialogue skills. We anticipate it to be a wonderful way to engage our teens in a meaningful way.
OWL classes: Offer Our Whole Lives (OWL) sexuality classes for all age groups. We are working with people at both Westminster and UUCS to offer a program open to the larger community.
