We gather in worship to find meaning and live more deeply. Worship creates connections within, among, and beyond us, calling us to our better selves, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion.

Our Sunday morning services, called Soul Weaving, are held over Zoom. The link is also in the weekly newsletter and is also emailed a few days before.

You are welcome to turn off your device’s camera for privacy if you wish, and we ask everyone to remain muted during the service. After the service, “coffee hour” begins at the same Zoom link—bring your own coffee, of course! Breakout rooms are opened and many people stay for unstructured visiting in small groups, usually with their video on.

You can watch past Sunday services in our archive to get a sense of what worship is like at INUUC. Elements of a typical Sunday morning service include:

  • Words of welcome
  • Lighting a flaming chalice, the symbol of our faith
  • A multigenerational segment, such as a “story for all ages”
  • Several pieces of music, both instrumental and vocal and in a variety of styles
  • A time for lifting up the joys and concerns of the congregation
  • A meditation or prayer
  • Readings—ancient or contemporary
  • A sermon given by a guest minister or other guest speaker, or a member of the congregation
  • An offering, collecting financial donations for the congregation or for justice work in the community.

From time to time, worship incorporates holiday celebrations or other special themes.
