The Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane (PJALS) is celebrating their work toward building a peaceful community with their 11th Annual Gathering. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate with them and become a part of their growing movement. Guest speaker will be Pui-Yan Tam, an immigrant from Hong Kong and member of the PJALS Steering Committee.
For 50 years, PJALS have organized for racial equity, economic justice, peace and human rights. Their calling is to build a multi-racial, class conscious, intergenerational, all-gender, rural–urban, bottom-up movement centered on the leadership of impacted people.
INUUC will be sponsoring a table for eight. We already have four folks signed up and would love to have more of you join us; even enough for another table. INUUC has made a donation to PJALS for this event. There is no cost for you to attend, though of course as a fundraiser, opportunities will be available to support them even a little bit more!
The dinner will be from 6–7 p.m. (with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.) on Wednesday, October 14. The event is being held at “The Venue” (formerly the Spokane Valley Event Center).
