As we recognize International Women’s Day, we are thrilled to be joined by Lea Morris, a Washington D.C.-based soul/folk performing artist. Having shared the stage with luminaries including Odetta, Mavis Staples, Dar Williams, and Anthony Hamilton, Lea performs at an array of venues, including arts centers, universities, festivals, and places of worship. Lea’s music is frequently featured in Unitarian Universalist churches throughout the United States.
Additionally, we’ll hear from three local leaders as they reflect on the women who shaped and influenced them: Hawa Haidari, whose account of her final days in Afghanistan has been published in The Atlantic magazine; Jennyfer Mesa, Executive Director of Latinos en Spokane, activist, and a 2020 Spokesman Review Woman of the Year; and Angelique Tomeo, a survivor of incarceration and co-founder of The Bail Project.
All are welcome to join us for this powerful service!
