Hospitality is an ancient cultural and religious practice, one that roots and flowers particularly in harsh climates. We can find this in places from the Middle East to Newfoundland, Canada. In this time of so many challenges, what do rituals of hospitality have to offer us here and now?
Rev. Monica Jacobson is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister who has served congregations in Oregon, Massachusetts, and Washington, across a variety of congregational sizes and organizational styles. She currently serves the UU Congregation of Salem, Oregon, and lives outside Vancouver, Washington, with her spouse, tween, and two mischievous Siamese cats.
