Practicing Hope: The Malleability of Our Emotional Life and Cultivating Gratitude

Many Americans do not think that they can control their emotions. They feel that emotions simply happen to us. Dr. Monica Bartlett will share what the science of emotion tells us, and we’ll practice growing our own sense of hope by cultivating the emotion gratitude.

Dr. Monica Bartlett is a Psychology Professor at Gonzaga University. She runs the Positive Emotion and Social Behavior Lab, regularly teaches courses on Resilience and Human Flourishing and is the Faculty Director of the Pedagogy of Hope Office. Her research has been widely cited by academics and is frequently noted in the general press.
