Multi-platform Ministry

Another in the series on multiplatform or Zoom inclusion groups

“Multiplatform Ministry strengthens our communities, helps attract and retain members, and provides valuable inclusion lessons applicable to other inclusion efforts.”

This quote is from Starr King Unitarian Universalist, a primary resource for UU leaders studying the application of multiplatform ministry. Personally, I appreciate that Starr King highlights the significance of learning inclusion lessons as a cornerstone of our UU ministry. By emphasizing the multiplatform ministry of a congregation, we are reminded of the importance of inclusivity and the metaphor and importance of representation in our world.

We would never exclude an individual from our congregation based on their race, age, or disability. Instead, we embrace the idea of welcoming and accommodating a diverse range of people. A Zoom inclusion platform is an example of this principle, creating a sense of belonging among participants regardless of their physical location. While those who can attend in person are fortunate, the virtual platform has enabled inclusion for a larger and more diverse audience.
