Spokane Alliance
INUUC became a member of the Spokane Alliance on June 13, 2021, to help achieve the community’s mission of “focusing on social justice issues in the Inland Northwest.”
INUUC recognizes that the Spokane Alliance, as a 22 year old non-partisan, non-profit organization has a proven track record of bringing about concrete local changes that benefit the people in our community. The Alliance accomplishes that through the cooperative organizing of more than 30 diverse faith communities, labor, and other community groups. By participating with the other Spokane Alliance member institutions, INUUC is able to accomplish far more for the common good than what it could accomplish alone. INUUC turns out its members to Alliance Assemblies and to actions at City Council to urge changes that support affordable housing, jobs, and important benefits like sick and safe leave.
INUUC members also participate in a variety of free Alliance trainings focused on leadership development and understanding the impact of colonization. The INUUC Spokane Alliance Circle keeps the members of INUUC apprised of training events, opportunities to engage in community issues, and actions. The Circle also engages in internal organizing at INUUC to strengthen our community. spokanealliance@inuuc.org
