General Assembly 2024 Has Wrapped up!

We will be sending out a more thorough report on GA soon, but in the meantime here are the highlights.

  • Love at the Center: New UU Statement of Values Passes after Momentous General Assembly Delegate Vote. This is the updated statement of our UU values and beliefs that we have been working on as a denomination for over three years. (Read more here)
  • Three Actions of Immediate Witness (AIW) were passed: Centering Love Amidst the Ongoing Impact of COVID-19, Solidarity with Palestinians, and World On Fire: Humanitarian Aid and Climate Change. An Action of Immediate Witness (AIW) is a statement about a significant action, event, or development in the world that necessitates immediate engagement and action among UU member congregations and groups. (Read more here)
  • An amazing Sunday Worship Service, “Weaving Our Lives” led by the Rev. Molly Housh Gordon from the UU Church of Columbia, Missouri. (Watch the service here)

INUUC had six attendees at this General Assembly: Stephanie Samson, Dale Morris, Lannie MacAndrea, Melody Holcomb, Erin Fitzgerald, and Scott Fitzgerald. This is an incredible showing for a small congregation like ours! This year GA was held entirely online, but next year’s general Assembly will be a multi-platform event, both online and in Baltimore, Maryland.
