Why Race Matters: History, Systems, and Strategies
Deepening our understanding of systemic racism is essential for strategic action! Every measure of socio-economic well-being shows disparity along the fault line of race. We can’t build a just and nonviolent world without addressing racism on the individual, institutional, and systemic levels. To end mass incarceration, to counter white nationalism and American fascism, or to counter US imperialism and colonialism, it is imperative that we deepen our understanding and sharpen our ability to take effective action together.
As part of our organizational commitment to racial equity and justice, we are excited to once again be offering the workshop “Why Race Matters: History, Systems, and Strategies” on Saturday March 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. I’m delighted to be co-facilitating this workshop with racial justice educator and leader Michaela Brown.
