Doug graduated from Iowa State University and Iliff School of Theology In Denver. He worked as a journalist: small-town newspaper in Iowa, editor of a small daily newspaper in Hamilton, MT, The Associated Press in Helena, MT, then minister in Englewood, CO, and United Methodist Church in Bozeman, MT. He moved to Spokane in 1977 and managed and owned Job Resource Center and worked with mostly disadvantaged persons, job counseling and assisting in career transitions. Doug has four daughters in Montana and Colorado. He and Diane have been married since 1984.
