Fauré’s Requiem

First Unitarian Portland’s Music and Worship Service:
Recorded Service from May 18

Directed by Garrett Bond, Interim Director of Music Ministries

This Requiem depicts the timelessness of human existence, the procession of generations, human longings, profound sorrow, fear of the unknown, as well as light, hope, and the ultimate.

Gabriel Fauré said, “But it is thus that I see death: as a happy deliverance, an aspiration towards happiness above, rather than as a painful experience.”

Presented by First Unitarian’s Radiance Choir, members of our Chalice Choir, and special guest artists from Portland State University and the Salem Symphony Orchestra. Directed by Garrett Bond.

Memorial Day Potluck

May 25 is Memorial Day weekend and also a 4th Sunday.

MaryAnne Winniford is inviting those who can make it to her house at 12 noon for a potluck. (No in-person service.) If you have folding chairs (like for a table), please bring them—I think I have tables covered. Also bring place settings so we don’t generate so much garbage. Please check the INUUC directory for the address (on our website after you’ve logged in) or call a friend.
