Pastor Bob, the minister at Westminster, has had the opportunity to participate in a Wild Church Leadership course. He is offering a number of Wild Church style gatherings this year and is experimenting with following the Celtic Wheel of the Year. This includes solstices, equinoxes, and the midpoints between each.
He is welcoming INUUC members to attend these outdoor events. The next one, celebrating Samhain, will be on Tuesday, October 31 at 6 p.m. at Manito Park North Shelter.
Samhain (pronounced “sow-in”) is the Celtic festival that marks a ‘thin time’ when the connection between the living and the dead feels more permeable. We will gather at the shelter, as daylight fades, to remember and give thanks for our ancestors, friends, and communities. Bring something that reminds you of someone you love, or represents someone you hope to become. We will have snacks, and hopefully a small fire!
